The eve of Christmas is a day to celebrate the end of the fasting before Christmas, the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Macedonian Orthodox worshippers celebrate this day by having a festive meal, not including meat, and typically has fish, beans, and a traditional Macedonian bread "Pogacha". The Pogacha has a hidden coin in it somewhere, and members of the family distribute pieces of the bread or Pogacha, and whoever receives the coin in their share of Pogacha will have good luck for the next year.
